We began Wyzr four years ago with a single mission in mind: provide a platform for credible voices, and original ideas that take India ahead.
Hence, we have always strived to support authors who bring depth, clarity, and intellectual honesty to their writing. That philosophy has shaped every decision we have taken as a publisher, from the manuscripts we accept to the editorial effort we invest in each book.
Quality, for us, has never been negotiable. And neither has the idea that publishing is a collaborative process, not a transactional one.
The pattern we observed
Over time, this approach led to an unenviable pattern.
Each year, we received hundreds of manuscripts from first-time authors. Many of them were thoughtful, sincere attempts at communicating meaningful ideas. Some needed more work than we could realistically offer. Some were nearly ready. A few were genuinely strong, but arrived when our team simply did not have the bandwidth to do justice to them.
We are a lean, bootstrapped organization by choice. That allows us to work deeply, but it also means that our capacity is limited.
As a result, we ended up rejecting far more proposals than we accepted, often not because they lacked merit, but because we could not promise them the attention they deserved.
For a long time, rejection felt like the only honest response.

Introducing Vantage Books
Vantage Books is our attempt to create an alternative.
It sits between traditional publishing, which is selective and slow, and large self-publishing platforms, which are optimized for volume and automation.
The goal here is not to publish everything, nor is it to promise outcomes we cannot control. The goal is to offer aspirational Indian authors a structured, human-led way to bring their book into the world, without reducing the process to a checklist or a dashboard.
This is why the imprint operates under a separate brand. Our flagship publishing identity remains reserved for books where we are deeply involved editorially from day one. This new arm exists to support authors who are serious about their work, but do not yet fit that model.

How is Vantage Books different from self-publishing platforms?
At a surface level, Vantage and self-publishing platforms can look similar. In both cases, the author funds the publishing process. However, this is where the similarities end.
Self-publishing platforms are built to keep books moving forward. Their systems are optimised to release a large number of titles, not to invest deeply in the success of each one.
Vantage, on the other hand, is an expert-led publishing service, not a self-publishing platform. It is designed to slow things down when needed, with human judgment and accountability built into the process.
We’ve been able to do this by introducing real constraints, deliberately:
- The same editorial and production team that works on Wyzr works on Vantage as well, bringing with it the standards and learnings from having worked on books that have gone on become bestsellers.
- We are a lean, bootstrapped team. Editorial attention is limited, and quality doesn’t scale infinitely.
- To protect the work, we take on only a small number of books at any given time.
- We currently work only with non-fiction, where our editorial experience and judgment actually lie.

Exclusive add-ons
For authors who want to go further, we offer two exclusive add-ons. These are not bundled by default and are only taken up when there is a clear alignment.
Marketing support
This will include guidance (and execution support) on launch strategy, media outreach, and positioning, depending on the nature of the book and the author's goals. We are careful to set realistic expectations and do not offer guarantees around visibility or sales.
Premium store placements, including airports
We also offer support for premium bookstore placements in select locations. Different stores will charge different prices basis repute, city, store location etc., and the placement will be subject to space availability during that time.
Clear path to traditional publishing
Unlike most self-publishing journeys, the relationship does not end once the book goes live.
We will closely track how books perform over time. If a book demonstrates consistent sales, strong reader traction, and encouraging content feedback, it would directly qualify to be reprinted under our flagship, Wyzr brand.
